The Fragrance Shop HQ, Trafford Park

Case Studies

The Fragrance Shop is a prominent leader in the fragrance and beauty industry in the UK, with over 220 stores nationwide. In line with the company’s continuous growth, a strategic decision was made to consolidate their workforce, previously scattered across multiple offices, into a unified headquarters located in Trafford Park. This move was aimed at encouraging fluid collaboration between various departments and business units.

The new office space, designed by Sheila Bird Studio and brought to life by Amspec, spans an impressive 90,000 square feet, spread across three floors. At the heart of the workspace is a full-height atrium, serving as a vibrant hub where employees come together to interact, gather and socialize. This dynamic space also doubles as a versatile town hall, capable of accommodating the entire workforce, which numbers over 500, for company-wide gatherings and events.

An eclectic mix of seating furnishes the space, with upholstered Lloyd high stools offering a softer counterpoint to the moulded café chairs. At the top of the bleacher seating is the centrepiece known as ‘The Fragrance Tree,’ ascending through a circular cut-out to the second floor. It is surrounded by drop-in desk spaces furnished with comfortable upholstered Lloyd chairs, creating a dynamic workspace that inspires creativity and collaboration.

Link seating which features highly textured Camira Craggan fabric and eye-catching Reseda Green legs, sits within custom joinery planters creating a semi-private biophilic area. The inclusion of Laptop Tables enhances the enclosed ‘conversation pit’ style space, making it perfect for casual meetings and engaging conversations.

Meeting rooms are equipped with stylish and comfortable Hugg chairs, providing an ideal setting for productive discussions. Throughout the offices, you will also find lounge areas of Newton sofas and Breathe chairs, creating inviting environments that encourage relaxation and collaboration.
