Designed by Up North Architects and fitted out by Rische Group, Junction at Manchester Central is a dynamic, multi-use space that blends restaurant, café, and social workspace elements. sixteen3’s furniture plays a key role in shaping the versatile and inviting atmosphere, with carefully selected pieces that enhance both comfort and functionality.
At the heart of the space, Fuse 2 seating creates a flowing, organic layout which balances openness with defined zones. A mix of standard and back-to-back configurations allow for both social gatherings and more focused interactions, while soft curves and layered upholstery contribute to a relaxed yet refined aesthetic. Integrated power points and a variety of table sizes ensure the space caters to everything from solo working to group dining, reinforcing its adaptability throughout the day.
In the lounge area, Alexander chairs provide a sense of laid-back luxury, offering comfort in a setting designed for unwinding or informal meetings. The distinctive lighting scheme—featuring low-hanging, scattered pendants—adds a residential-style softness, creating a cosy and intimate atmosphere within the expansive room.
Elsewhere, Bodyn booths have been integrated into bespoke timber joinery, forming inviting alcoves for focused work or small group conversations. Their enclosed design provides a sense of privacy while maintaining a connection to the surrounding environment.
Across every zone, the combination of carefully curated furniture, lighting, and material choices results in a space that supports the varied needs of visitors, from work to leisure.
