Continuing the success of other breakout areas within Block 30, Amspec created the Park Garden area and an additional Breakout space at world-leading life science innovation campus, Alderley Park. Based in Cheshire, it has the biggest and best invested life science R&D facilities in the UK, offering laboratory and state-of-the-art office space to rent.
Amspec were chosen on behalf of Bruntwood to design and install an indoor ‘garden area’, providing informal breakout areas where people can meet outside of an office setting. The garden area was designed to elevate the look and feel of the main atrium. A large Reece sofa creates a stylish, comfortable lounge area, with Pop stools providing additional casual seating and Lithos Cushions bringing in pops of colour and texture.
In the breakout area the client wanted to use pops of colour and comfortable furniture to create a bright, airy and welcoming space to encourage people to use the space for collaborative work and leisure. Five pieces of curved Link combine to create a seating area in the centre of the room, with a tree in the centre providing a real focal point. To the side, a mix of Alexander and Odyssey lounge chairs, upholstered in complimentary fabrics, offer a comfortable place to sit. Flexible Icarus tables are used in the enclosed meeting alcoves, finished in black for a striking monochrome look.
